Thanks be to God

I know I always start out saying that it's just going to be a quick update and then it turns into a book. Well here's another book for you:) They took Emmalee off sedation around 1:30 p.m. to see what kind of movement she'd have. We were actually quite surprised that they'd do this since her chest is still open but I guess this is what they do. Well when we went in there they had already seen her hands and toes move...and they were controlled movements not jerky ones that would be associated with seizures and brain trauma. Although they say they can't be certain about anything right now they do see these as positive movements and we will take that! When we came in and talked to her she started blinking her eyes and then slowly she did get her right eye open just a slit and watched her daddy as he talked to her! It was so good to see that...God is good! We are just waiting on her results from another head ultrasound but things look to be positive and we feel that she's on the road to recovery! Just keep praying that things keep progressing without any set backs and that she continues to get stronger. They will do another echo on her heart tomorrow to see how it is doing and to kind of get a feel for when she might be ready to get off the ECMO machine, which will still be a few days. We continue to pray that her brain has no signs of injury and thank God for the progress already. We'll keep you updated...and a little fyi...Jon's stomach is feeling better...thank you for praying for him! Thanks to you all!
Love
Jon, Ali & Emmalee

Ali and Jon,

Slow progress must stretch your soul thin but still, progress is progress.
Let us know what you need. So many people are tracking you this way and we would love to help in some way. Food? Something to keep you busy? Check on the house? Pay some bills? I am certain that anything you ask for (in addition to the prayers) will be attended to.

Thank you so much for keeping the blog up to date. Even though I haven't stopped praying it gives me "new material" to lay at His feet. This little Emmalee is a fighter! You go girl!

Hi Ali~
Being a blog neophyte I left a message at the very first place folks were leaving you blog-notes. So, if you want to read it go there. Meanwhile I am now all up-to-date, and hooked on your little girl. What a treasure she is! Stay strong and remember the Bible verse from Timothy that says God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but of a strong, sound, sane mind. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on.
Sending three hugs of love, Becka

Jon & Ali...
Hey there, hopefully you remember us - Rachel's parents??? :) Rach has been keeping us updated a bit on what's been happening with little Emma. Your precious little family has been in our prayers over these past days. We've just not had internet access until now - so this is the first we've been able to check out your blog. (We've been out of the area enjoying a SC beach with our 'other' granddaughter & her parents over the past week! No internet in that area!!)

Anyway... we want you to know that we are keeping you lifted in prayer; and trusting God for His plans for you all! - Wayne & Judy

P.S. LOVED the picture of the 3 of you - mommy, daddy & little Emma!

You've been in my thoughts all day long and I keep checking for a picture and news about Emma - I'm sure you are exhausted. From Psalm 91 - one of my favorites: "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord. "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God in Him I will trust." He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day. "
Know that you are thoroughly loved and prayed for! May you find strength in Him. Praying for you in Muncie.
much love, mary

Hey Guys, we are sure glad to hear that you are seeing positive signs. We are in a village called Grayling on the Yukon river here in AK. There is a funeral that we are attending and during church today we were able to share about Baby Emma with a bunch of the people and we prayed for her, it was pretty need being able to share Emma's story and see people respond way out here in the middle of now where in an Athabaskan Indian lodge during church service. The boy who died was only 3 and the family was really hurting, I think Emma's story was big encouragement to them.
